28 weeks

We're now in week 28! Eights and twos are special numbers for your daddy and I. That's why our wedding date is 08/02/2008. But the eights and twos started from the very, very beginning. By pure coincidence, all of the dates of our significant events happened on days that ended either in an 8 or a 2 (day we first began talking 02/22/97; day we first met in person 08/08/97; day we first kissed 11/08/97; day we began dating 11/12/97; day daddy proposed 04/08/07; amongst other dates). And 8's and 2's have popped up for us in various other ways over the years. So, naturally, 28 weeks is of special notice to us. We decided to plan our babymoon for this weekend, and will be spending this weekend in Hermosa Beach, relaxing and having fun. More details to come on that!

Last night we had another doctor's appointment (with the nurse practitioner). Everything continues to look good. I'll just need to go back in a couple of weeks to have some more blood work done, to check my platelet levels, among other things, to see if things are still a little off, or if there has been any change.

And then, last Sunday, we went in to do an elective 3D/4D ultrasound at a place in Pleasant Hill. We got to spend 25 minutes watching you on the screen, and left with a CD and a little album of pictures, and a DVD with video of the entire session. They double checked your gender, and also determined that you're a girl (bring on the pink paint!). You were pretty mellow, and still being shy with your hands/arms covering your face for much of the time. We did a lot of wiggling and gentle prodding to get you to move your arms a bit so we could get some good shots of your face. You were positioned head-up, with your head on my upper right side, and your bottom on my lower left side. Your legs were bent up with your feet up near your face as well. At one point we got to see you yawn, which was super sweet! We determined that it looks like you've got your daddy's lips, and your mommy's nose. Yay for the lips! And I'm sorry about that nose!

Your little fingers are balled up in a fist next to your face

There's your foot and little toes!

Hopefully you won't stay head-up (breech), because that could certainly complicate the delivery. But you have roughly 12 weeks to get turned around, and you've been doing an awful lot of wiggling and squirming in there lately. I'm definitely feeling more pokes and prods and kind of rolling-dragging sensations, or like you're trying to bulge out of my belly. I haven't felt so many kicks lately (although you did kick me in the bladder the other day!), so you're probably starting to get a little more cramped in there.
